The Golden Globes are generally known as the casual low-key sister of the awards season circuit. It’s relaxed, it’s very social and it’s one of few events where TV and movie stars mingle and air kiss.
But this year the carpet was packed with purpose. In the form of LBDs. Not little black dresses but LOUD black dresses. Because these women had something to say and we should all most definitely be listening up.
The #TimesUp movement was visually represented in a sea of black all over the red carpet when industry men and women donned their darkest in protest against sexual harassment, gender inequality and in support of the #MeToo movement.
So instead of simply showing you beautiful couture, which there was, I thought it important to hear why these women decided to wear black and add their voices to this cause.
