I’ll admit it, I never wanted a maternity shoot! As grateful and excited as I was to know that I was going to be having a baby, come the last couple of months of my pregnancy I felt incredibly uncomfortable. Feeling that uncomfortable it was hard to wrap my head around getting all dolled up and feeling beautiful with my baby bump in front of a camera. This was after I had finished shooting season one of How Do I Look? SA at 7 months pregnant!
Having said that when I came across imagery of a milk bath maternity shoot my mind was very quickly changed.
I chatted to make up artist and stylist Sarah Mitchell about the possibility of us putting one together and she jumped at the chance.
Sarah did my hair and make up and also did all of the styling for the shoot which entailed selecting the flowers, putting the milk bath together and being on set to manage the shoot. When you’re THIS pregnant you don’t feel like doing ANYTHING let alone organising a shoot!
I once again called on photographer, Georgia Groenewold from Reflection 9 to take the photos which came out beautifully.
Sarah and Georgia have done quite a few maternity and newborn shoots together so be sure to call on them if you fancy a really efficient and creative duo. They take care of all the details so you don’t have to!
You can also email Georgia Groenewold of Reflection9 Photography here for all your newborn and maternity photoshoot needs.
I really hope you enjoy the shots as much as we enjoyed taking them.
