The 2018 Met Gala: The First (Most Fashionable) Monday in May

Hold on to your rosaries ladies and gentlemen because the first Monday in May arrived and departed and caused quite a stir while it was here. When the Costume Institute at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the theme for this year many a head was turned and many a nose was put out of joint. “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” was co-chaired this year by Amal Clooney, Rihanna and Donatella Versace. According to Vogue the theme was “designed to create a dialogue between fashion and the masterworks of religious art” housed in the museum – and that it did.
