Summer Festival Fashion: How To Rock The Daisies

I have been lucky enough to visit some of the best festivals across the world, from Coachella in America to Tomorrowland in Belgium. To say that a good time was had is an understatement. The people are so happy and the fashion is such fun!

With our Summer Season in full flow now and our own SA festivals like Rocking The Daisies just around the corner I enlisted the help of TALLY WEiJL and stylist, Sarah Ann Mitchell to create two fun festival fashion looks.

In my first ensemble we used a pair of high waisted cropped dungarees. As these dungarees were tight we paired it with a loose fitting denim shirt to counteract their figure hugging fit. I loved the American flag detailing on the shirt! Despite the dungarees being quite short and tight, the fact that they were high waisted really made them comfy.

I bought these gladiator sandals for myself for just R200 and I thought this bargain buy added a bohemian feel to the quite strong edged look.

We stuck to simple accessories with a little rose gold disc choker and also added a pop of colour with a bright coral boob tube popping through the shirt.

In my second look we kept it a little more simple with a high neck bodycon dress. The aztec tribal print felt perfect for a festival! If theres one thing my stylist friend, Sarah Ann Mitchell always tells me is that, “You’ve got to feel comfortable in what you are wearing. As soon as you are comfortable your confidence in the look is tripled.”

The reason I mention this is the dress is actually a knee length body con but I felt uncomfortable in the length as it cut me in the wrong places. I loved the dress and I wanted to wear it so by simply tweaking it by slightly folding it up it created a much more flattering and comfortable look. Don’t be afraid to amend and adjust to fit in with you and your shape!

We accessorised with a TALLY WEiJL suede stud and fringe cross body bag as well as a trusty pair of Hunter wellies.

My last accessory was a floral headband. It worked so perfectly with the bohemian curl and braid hairstyle Morag did for me. The headband was so comfortable as it didn’t have the usual elastic part to it which is usually always too tight and kinks the hell out of my hair.

My make up artist extraordinaire, Morag Steyn, was super excited to hear we were doing a festival look. She kept the make up simple on the eyes and cheeks so that the Kardashian Beauty lashes and ‘war paint’ detail weren’t overpowered. I loved this look as its not something you can wear every day so when you do you, make the most of it.

P.S. It’s a super simple make-up look that you can easily recreate at home!

A huge thanks again to TALLY WEiJL for opening up their rails to me. Ladies, their upcoming Summer range is amazing!
