The MTV Video Music Awards’ red carpet is a staple in my fashion diary each year. The one thing you will never be is bored. Here come the best and worst moments.
Shall we just start at the top and trickle our way down? There aren’t many that can compete with Beyonce. Especially when she arrives with a squad thats so deep in slayage it hurts to breathe. Plus, her number one accessory apart from her Lorraine Schwartz jewellery was Blu Ivy. Bow down to the Queen and her Princess.
Beyonce is wearing Francesco Scognamiglio Couture.
Maybe the LBD at the VMA’s could generally be considered slightly boring but the strategic cut outs and the fact that its Britney’s return …. WIN WIN! Oh and her LBD is Versace. Which also trumps pretty much everything.
Kim Kardashian brings an unexpected understated look of casual, cool and huge amounts of sexy in this sheer mini dress. When you can pull off such a casual look to an event of this magnitude you know you have some fashion powerhouse pull.
Rita Ora. An outfit so wrong thats its right. I love her in this Marc Jacobs look. She never fails to deliver something different every time.
The panache of Tinashe (see what we did there) in this flowing Red jumpsuit by Juan Carlos Obando.
Jaiden Smith’s coat gives me life…..CAT LIFE!
If ever there was a mismatched pair of perfection it was these two. THESE TWO! Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell and fashion designer Jeremy Scott donned #matchingnotmatching Moschino. #sorrynotsorry
Bare chests, both male and female seemed to be a common feel on the carpet but Cassie’s was by far my fave… GIVE ME THOSE TROUSERS IMMEDIATELY! And under normal circumstances we would not condone such yellow hair but somehow, someway through some fashion miracle, her yellow hair looks amazing.
JinJoo Lee of DNCE is my spirit animal in this look…..
Singer/Songwriter Justine Skye was all kinds of fab in this colourful fringe number. One of my best dressed of the night!
YAAASSSS Hailey Baldwin, YAS! Slaying in this George Chakra jumpsuit.
And now for those outfits we desire a little less…
Nick Canon… unlaced shoes + white board shorts + too-low-cut vest + turban = NO. Fashion maths is pretty simple.
I love you Tove Lo and I love your trainers but I don’t love your back to front straight jacket. *insert pink girl emoji with arms crossed*
