It was a dream to interview Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones fame for her new film, Me Before You. She stars opposite Sam Claflin (yummy!) where they bring to life Jojo Moyes’ best selling novel. Emilia’s character, Louisa Clark, who she poignantly shares a last name with, has quite the quirky dress sense! This instantly inspired a style story in my head so in honour of the film I thought it a fab idea to celebrate Lou in a collaborative editorial with one of my faves, Topshop.
I was lucky enough to have my 5FM friends, Fix, Nicole da Silva and Ms Cosmo join me for our coffee shop scene at Doppio Zero. Fab fashion, delicious coffees and juices, and Smashbox cosmetics to make us look pretty, were the perfect combo! Here is a taster of Lou’s style in the film as well as our looks inspired by her.
Lou’s famous red dress in the film is a real show stopper. Fix decided to draw colour inspiration from this with an oversized knitted dress from Topshop. Being the funky soul that she is, she paired her look with a utility style backpack and gold sneakers. The “Love Life” slogan on Fixie’s shoes really encapsulates who Louisa Clark is in the film as well as Emilia – she is NOTHING like her Khaleesi character from Game of Thrones! If you don’t believe me you can watch my interview with her here.
Morag Steyn, celebrity makeup artist, mirrored Fix’s red dress with a red lip from Smashbox. This shade is Classic Red from their Matte lipstick range.
Don’t forget to catch Fix on the Forbes and Fix show every weekday from 13:00 – 16:00 on 5FM.
Louisa’s dress sense is very flirty, girly and fun. Which inspired 5FM DJ Nicole da Silva’s look. She chose a flowey floral print skater dress with the most gorgeous grey duster coat. I’m in love with duster coats at the moment and is a must-have this season! Her orange shoulder bag is the perfect pop of colour to bring it all together. Nicole’s lippie colour is Smashbox’s Witchy.
Join Nicole on the Weekend Playdate, Saturdays and Sundays, 14:00 – 17:00.
Being the funky Hip Hop DJ that she is, Ms Cosmo was immediately attracted to these embellished boyfriend jeans from Topshop. To balance the look and not go overboard we matched it with a basic pink jumper. And can we have a moment for those heels?! I know that Louisa Clark would approve! Make sure you catch Ms Cosmo on The Stir Up on 5FM every Sunday from 19:00 – 22:00.
Louisa’s pigtails were my best! So this was my first stop on the way. While walking through Topshop I was immediately drawn to an oversized peasant sleeve jumper (straight outta the 90s which is still a big trend) and mixed up the textures with a white lace mini. And then the cat shirt… if you know me, and follow me on Snapchat, you’ll know that I am obsessed with cats and if I didn’t have a husband I would totally be THAT old cat lady! Hope you loved all the looks!
