After watching, and really enjoying, E!’s “Fashion Bloggers” I have slowly but surely began to stalk the Instagram pages of these women and taken inspiration from their posts and digital lives. The way they dress is impeccable and I’m a sucker for a beautifully curated Instagram account. (You can read more about my favourite fashion bloggers on Instagram, here.)
Someone who has been around for quite some time and spearheaded the way to the FROW for many bloggers is Bryanboy. Bryan Grey Yambao is a Filipino fashion blogger and the other f-word you could call him is flamboyant. He was seen next to the ramps of Jason Woo (who he is personal besties with), Thakoon and Derek Lam this Spring 2016 season.
The Fug Girls, also known as Jessica Morgan and Heather Cocks, have been covering New York Fashion week for their blog, Go Fug Yourself, for nearly a decade. They also cover the pinnacle event of the fashion world for Cosmopolitan Magazine. They have witnessed it all from Nelly punching someone at Baby Phat to actual penises at a Richie Rich show. Please don’t hate me for saying this but props to the writing duo for hitting the FROW with not much style to boot. But they say that that’s what makes them different. Unpretentious, funny and they just don’t give a shit. Read their blog here. If you’re into the likes of Betches this is right up your alley.
Another comedy fashion blogger who I love is Leandra Medine, author of Man Repeller, which she describes as “a humorous website for serious fashion”. She has become a seasoned sitter in the FROW and this year was no different having attended the shows of Sally LaPointe, Rodebjer, Derek Lam and Dion Lee. As someone who was listed in Forbes Magazine’s Top 30 Under 30 I do believe she has earned her stripes.
Tina Craig is on the up and up and has seen widespread notoriety of late. Her blog, The Coveteur, has taken off in a whirlwind of fantastic fashion reviews and has landed her a coveted spot in the front row at the Spring 2016 showings of NYFW . Quite a departure from her previous role as stay-at-home mom. Her carpool is undoubtedly the most stylish of all the parents!
Fashion Bloggers are most definitely setting the tone for trends around the globe and their voices and opinions are becoming equally as important as those of Fashion Editors. Watch out Anna… you might find your front row spot taken pretty soon.
